The goal of osteopathy is not the treatment of individual symptoms, but the diagnosis and elimination of their causes.

Osteopathy - Basic Idea and Possibilities

Osteopathy is based on the perfection of nature's work. When all parts of the human body are well-ordered, there is health. If this is not the case, the effect is illness. When the parts are readjusted, illness gives way to health.

Bones, muscles, nerves, internal organs, and all other tissues of the body are interrelated. A harmonious interaction of these tissues allows the body to function as a unit. When too many structures are out of balance, the innate self-healing cannot work anymore, and pain and illness arise.

In osteopathic treatment, the causes (functional disorders and blockages) that cause or maintain illness are resolved with gentle manual techniques. The body is considered as an indivisible unit. The goal of treatment is the freely movable interplay of all structures and systems. This activates self-healing forces and supports the body's natural tendency to assume its optimal form and function.
